POLICIES OF THE HEBERT DANCENTRE 2010-2011
Hebert Dancentre appreciates your investment in your child's dance education. Your child receives a dance education which develops balance, poise, grace, and a studied understanding for the art of dance. We help your child develop into the best dancer they can and wish to be. Whether a future professional dancer or dedicated recreational student, we instill discipline to each student that aids them with all aspects of life. We seek excellence from all our students appropriate to their level and interest.
This is accomplished with a cooperative and supportive effort from the parents, students, our teachers and staff.
Welcome to the family of Hebert Dancentre!
Our policies have been developed carefully to alleviate any possible confusion concerning our approach to your child's dance training at the Hebert Dancentre. These policies are based on over 50 years of dance instruction and business experience. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.

If you choose to pay monthly a $10 fee will be added to your tuition and you must present nine post dated checks. Any other form of payment must be approved by the office and you must make an appointment to arrange payments.
Tuition rates are not based on the number of classes per month. Due to school holidays and end of the year performances, the number of classes per month will vary. Students will not be allowed to drop out for a month and return to class the same year. The Dancentre does not refund tuition, registration, costume, or performance fees.
Students will not be allowed to participate in conventions, competitions or performances if account are not current.
DRESS CODE
The dress code is designed to encourage unity and discipline among students. Students will not be allowed to take class if not properly attired, including shoes and hair.
HAIR MUST BE PULLED BACK AND IN A BUN, ESPECIALLY IN BALLET CLASS.
Check with staff on dance attire.
Please label all shoes and dance bags.
ATTENDANCE
All students are expected to attend class regularly and on time. Parents and students are reminded that any absence from class hampers a students's progress and that repeated absences could cause a student to fail to meet the requirement of his/her level
HOLIDAYS AND STUDIO CLOSURE
We follow the St Landry School Board's holiday schedule. When in doubt call the studio and a message will give the correct information.
CLASS OBSERVATION
The Dancentre does not allow parents or friends to observe class. We feel the student is then engaged in performing instead of learning and taking direction from the teacher. It is also disruptive for the other students and the teacher. The teacher and students need this valuable time to engage in technique, corrections and developing a teacher/student relationship. The studio is not set up for viewing class but we will have days when we will allow class observation.
PLEASE NOTE
When possible try not to bring extra children into the dressing room.and keep brothers and sisters in the waiting area. Teachers and staff feel it is a difficult area to correct children from running around the space and playing with studio props.
DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP STUDENTS
To keep classes on time we ask that students arrive on time and are picked up on time. Teachers can not watch students and teach at the same time. When possible drop students off at front door. When dismissing class, teachers will bring students to the front of studio or in the yard and watch them get in the car. This will eliminate back up on the street. In most cases studio door will be locked for safety reasons, so it will be better to stay in your car till class is dismissed
QUESTIONS, CONCERNS, AND PROBLEMS NOT ADDRESSED BY THIS POLICY
Please call the studio and make an appointment for a personal meetings or phone meetings. We are happy to discuss all concerns and make this year a great experience for everyone. Please refrain from leaving problems that arrive on the message machine, so we can keep studio business private.
THE DANCENTRE WILL POST INFO, UPDATES, AND REHEARSALS ON OUR WEBSITE AND THROUGH E-MAIL. MAKE SURE WE HAVE YOUR CORRECT E-MAIL ADDRESSES.
